Yellow trade unions turn against the socialist or social-democratic ideas represented by the "red trade unions" and step instead for a harmonious co-operation of work and capital in. Therefore yellow trade unions are mostly paid by the entrepreneurs and to serve also as strike breakers. Yellow trade unions are accordingly outlawed and unpopularly in the trade union movement. Historical

The first yellow trade union probably developed in France during a strike in the iron factories of Creusot in the year 1899 as a reaction to the syndicalistic red trade unions, which dominated the French workers' movement at this time.
