World vision is international auxiliary and development assistance organization.
World vision was created as interdenominational Christian-humanitarian welfare organization on 22 September 1950 of the journalist and theologian Bob Pierce. 2005 was active for WORLD VISION international more than 22,500 coworkers in 96 countries.
Core of the work of World vision is long-term development co-operation. Projects are developed and accomplished together with the population in developing countries. In order to use synergies, the projects for larger regions - frequent with more than 100,000 inhabitants - are conceived. The lastingness of the development is guaranteed by long courses of the project (>12 years) and by parallel improvements within different ranges (education, health care, food safety device, income promotion, AIDS fight).
The humanitarian assistance forms a further emphasis of the work of World vision with the supply of disaster victims as well as war and hunger refugees. Further activities within this range are peace promoting measures and the development of disaster early warning systems.
World vision maintains official work relations with the World Health Organization and has advisor status with the of the United Nations. World vision is at present the largest distributor of food for the world nourishing program of the United Nations (WFP).
WORLD VISION Germany registered association is active an interdenominational Christian welfare organization and since 1979 from Germany. In the year 2005 with a financial volume by more than 72 million euro altogether 226 aid projects were accomplished in 41 countries. In the center thereby promoted regional development projects over child sponsorships, which cover also medical supply, education, AIDS fight and promotion of crafts beside the food safety device, were located.
World vision Germany accomplished altogether 64 projects of the humanitarian assistance in the year 2005.
