The German world hunger assistance registered association is a konfessionell independent, non-profit, charitable non-governmental relief organization of development co-operation and the help in need. It was created 1962 on initiative of Federal President at that time Heinrich Luebke as a German committee for the fight against hunger and formed the German section of the 1961 of the Secretary-General of the nourishing and agriculture organisation of the United Nations (FAO) in the life called Freedom From hunger Campaign. 1969 took place renaming. Since its establishment is respective Federal President Schirmherr of the organization.

Emphasis of the work are the securing of food supply and agriculture as well as the humanitarian assistance.
