Here aperiodic and weakly structured team and/or group work the support of, which requires a high degree at co-operation (co-operation, concerns). By Workgroup Computing tries the Zusammernarbeit by computer-aided to facilitate and/or only make interlaced systems possible.

The team members can be thereby geographically and temporally from each other separately, e.g. Software development in different time belts or continents. For this reason there are also completely different editors real time and/or deferred working makes possible. This requires special mechanisms, around work control (e.g. Curserbewegung to regulate Scrollen in the document) with synchronous (real time) treatment. With such conflicts one speaks mouse so mentioned also of and/or scroll wars.

It is important that the treatment on the same document basis geschied. The redundancies and those can be well controlled by this central data adminstration differently versions by documents. Around the geographical distance to bridge communication has a high value.

Groupware represents a collection of programs, which consists too usually of angewandelten application and communication programs, which possible Workgroup Computing makes.
