Wood joints are used by carpenters and carpenters, in order to connect woods durably. The kinds of the connections are similar in both trades; they differ mainly in the size.

A wood joint consists in principle of two parts, whereby a part of the connection is in each case at both woods which can be connected, for example taps and Zapfenloch.

Kind of the wood joint

Sheets

Sheets by the Carpenter used around lying woods, which meet oderkreuzen to connect for example purlins.

The carpenter uses sheets around simple frame corners to manufacture.

Kinds of sheet:

  • Simple hitting a corner sheet
  • Whole diagonal hitting a corner sheet (pressure sheet)
  • Covered hitting a corner sheet
  • Hook hitting a corner sheet

Peg

Wood pegs are pieces specified down by round timbers, which are hit into prefabricated holes, similarly that far, however in finer execution. As loadable replacement for pegs the connection is made also with small panels from timber material (Lamellos). Tanga

Burrs

Trimming is used when the stabilization boards by borders. The border runs thereby usually right-angled in a recess of the board. The border can run in the board and prevented that the board curves.

Combs

Combs occur with woods, which lie one on the other, but against shift secured to become to have, thus with bar situations, framework and kinds of latch plate wall comb:

  • Halving
  • Simple comb

Claws

Claws or also Kerven are cutouts from woods, to the example rafter, which these rest upon purlins. A claw consists out of horizontal surface, which the rafter on the purlin rests upon, and one senkrechten surface, which rests against the front edge of the purlin. With flat roofs there two smaller senkrechte surface nowadays the rafters with rafter nails with the purlins is connected. It is in most cases enough however, if some rafters with are board-lax-fixed. The remaining rafters are then held with the roof slats.

Groove and feather/spring, Gespundet

For front side connecting of boards the faces will provide with a groove, into which a narrow Holzstreifen (the feather/spring) is inserted.

The same technology can be also used, in order to connect boards or halls along their narrow side, in order to bridge the stretch joint, e.g. with ship soils. If the feather/spring is worked directly from one of the boards, the connection is called gespundet. Prefabricated this connecting form is driven out technically unkorrekt as groove and feather/spring wood.

Verse-corrode

Do not verse-corrode with right-angled one on the other appropriate are wood-used. They serve to increase the front surfaces around Abscherungzu avoid. Kinds of disalignment:

  • Front disalignment
  • Heel disalignment
  • Double disalignment

Slot and tap

Connections with slot and tap are used for in one level of one on the other appropriate woods.

The Carpenter uses this connection for woods, e.g. does not rest upon - for example in the bar situation - on the other hand with woods, which do not meet one on the other rectangular - like rafters, struts or foot volumes.

The carpenter uses this connection e.g. for the Eckerbindungen of window frameworks and/or wings.

Kinds of tap:

  • Simple tap
  • Tap with straight lines chest
  • Tap with diagonal chest
  • Diagonal tap
  • Scherzapfen
  • Schlitzzapfen

for taps

are used, in order to prevent that a tap from the Zapfenloch slips. There is rounded off or four-sharp-edged which are struck into a pre-drilled hole in the wood joint. However these consist depending upon application of particularly flexible (sycamore, Salweide) or hard wood. The drillings are usually implemented on course in carpentry, i.e., the boreholes in the tap and in the wood with the Zapfenloch are easily transferred (around up to maximally several millimeters). When hitting the Holznagels the tap is pulled in such a way stramm into the Zapfenloch. As sichtige can be also cleanly with point and head implemented.

Tine

Tine is a traditional solid wood connection. Mainly it serves for connecting Korpusecken, as finger tap (T connector) in addition, for the installation of soils or center walls. One finds the finger tines also with check woods. The remarks differ depending upon mechanical requirement.

  • Finger tine (degrees of tines or also machine tines)
  • Open Zinkung (dove tails)
  • Halfcovers Zinkung (only from a side visibly)
  • Gehrungszinkung (no connection visibly)
  • Finger tap (as T connector)
