Sir William Gull (* 31 December 1816 in Colchester, Essex; "† 29 January 1890 in London) suspected Jack the Ripper to have been.

The family, into which William Gull was born, was poor. It had however the luck to find with the boss of the Guy's of hospital in London a wealthy promoter. Thus it studied medicine in London and locked in the year 1841 its studies.

He became a professor and taught at the Guy's hospital. After it had successfully treated the successor to the throne, who suffered from typhoid fever, it was ennobled both and royal body physician.

When it died, it left an enormous fortune. In the year 1976 publish Stephen Knight a book, in which it set up the thesis that Sir William Gull had committed the murders of Jack the Ripper. This thesis was disproved until today neither proven nor. However Dr. Gull was 72 years old 1888 (period serrate-murders) and had already an impact accumulation behind itself. To that extent this theory seems more than doubtfuly.
