William Carl Johann Wedding (* 18 August 1830 in Berlin, "† 15 April 1908 in Berlin) was a citizen of Berlin entrepreneur.

After completing the engineer exam in mechanical engineering Wedding created mechanical engineering and iron foundry in the year 1857 on behalf of "Wedding factory" in the Oranienburger road 94 in direct proximity of the Oranienburger of gate in Berlin center. Until 1882 the factory stood under its line.

The business office maintained Wedding in Berlin Wedding, at the original registered place of business in the field route 50, which it shifted however later to the field route 76. The factory created by Wedding was bought up in the year 1878 of the AEG Apparatefabrik. It became then under the name "Wedding apparatus factory" the first factory of the AEG in the Wedding.

Wedding lived first in the well route 111 in the citizen of Berlin district Wedding and starting from 1870 in the Chausseestrasse 73, likewise in the citizen of Berlin Wedding.

Today is located still the "official gate" sketched by Franz Schwechten to the AEG in the well route 111.
