Wilkinson Sword is a British manufacturer of razor-blades, swords, Essbesteck and garden devices. The enterprise was created 1772 by Henry Nock.
Over the founder little is well-known, the company assumes however, it made training as Pistolenmacher. At least it was active after its address in London as manufacturers of Feuerwaffen for military and sport.

Starting from the 1890ern the company their product assortment extended continuously and to the turn of the century it on over 5.000 had increased - from bayonets over typewriters up to razor-blades and the 1898 imported safety electric shavers. Afterwards were added also bicycles, motorcycles and cars. While armaments in the First World War constituted the main part of production, Wilkinson Sword continued thereafter the production of the electric shavers suspended in the war and took up also garden devices to the assortment.
In the Second World War the focus of production shifted war-important goods such as air defense cannons and the bulletproof west. The expected return to the production of electric shavers was retarded however by the scarceness at metal.
The turning point for the company came 1956, when it brought the first zweischneidige blade from stainless steel on the market. These and the teflon-coated super Sword Edge 1961 proved as break-through in the market, and the market share grew from 2 per cent 1961 on 50 per cent of 1970.
1971 brought Wilkinson out with Bonded that world-wide first system electric shaver. 1992 came out then with the Protector the first electric shaver also through wires protected blade. Since then Wilkinson with Gillette supplies itself a hard competition around market shares and both equips the devices with ever more blade, humidity strips and more sophisticated mechanics.
Over the years Wilkinson Sword several times ge was sold and. Thus it fused sometime in 20. Century with the company of the inventor of the electrical electric shaver - to which Canadian Jacob send - to send Wilkinson Sword.
