Wildcards are sudden coincidental and unexpected events in the history and nature, which have a very small probability, which cause however substantial changes, similarly as a Joker in the pack of cards (in the American one: wildly card = Joker). They very often appear like incidents in the used operational sequence.

Examples are:

In the future possible:

  • Impact of a comet.
  • Failure of the system of the atomic deterrence (Mutual assured destruction)
  • Climatic changes

regular historical features:

  • Inventions (wheel, broadcast, motor traffic, microelectronics, nuclear energy use)
  • Charismati personalities, that work by their occurrence changing

Examples from the past:

  • Collapse of the Eastern Bloc (1989)
