The Westinghouse Electric corporation with their headquarters in Monroeville, Pennsylvania, is 1886 a company created of George Westinghouse. Westinghouse had before already created the Westinghouse air Brake company. Westinghouse Electric received its first patent for the alternating current transmission. She was pioneer in the area of the far from and high-voltage transmission of electric current. Beside George Westinghouse worked at the company also William Stanley, Nikola Tesla and olive Schallenberger. Westinghouse was at that time the rival of General Electric.
