The westAfrican economic and monetary union (frz. Union et Ouest Africaine, shortened UEMOA) is a union of eight westAfrican states: Benin, d'Ivoire, the Niger, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Togo, Mali and Guinea-Bissau). Their common currency is the CFA franc.
The countries of the westAfrican economic and monetary union are also part of the westAfrican Economic Community ECOWAS. A further monetary union is the Central African economic and monetary union.
