Dr. Ing. Werner Marnette (* 27 September 1945 in Cologne) is a German Industrieller.

Marnette buildup in Cologne and studied from 1968 to 1973 metal metallurgy and/or electrometallurgy to the RWTH in Aachen. Subsequently, he was a there scientific assistant and attained a doctorate in December 1977.

Career/development

Since 4 February 1994 Marnette of chairmen of the executive committee of the north Germans is Affinerie in Hamburg.Als of chairmen of the board brought to Marnette the WELL 1998 to the stock exchange (MDAX) and made it in the subsequent years the largest copper producer of Europe. Federation activity: President Eurometeaux 1997-2000, president trade association of metals WVM 1998-2002, acting of the Chamber of Commerce Hamburg starting from 2.Mai 2002.

Marnette became a broad public by its criticism at the oligopoly (see report of the independent monopoly commission from 9 July 2004) of the four in Germany transacts generator (E.ON, RWE, EnBW, Vattenfall) and their electricity tariffs well-known for the German industry. Marnette demands the extension of the capacity of the dome places and lowering of the net use fees to the discrimination-free import from river to Germany. Marnette demands the introduction of same commercial criteria for the Leipziger current stock exchange EEX, as they have north pool validity at the Scandinavian current stock exchange: Information of all market participants about daily capacities of the power stations and Marnette fears that the high price strategy of the four companies will lead to the Abwandeerung of the energy-intensive enterprises made of Germany and thus to the destruction of altogether 660,000 jobs in the German basic industry.

In this connection it withdrew after substantial interventions of the four dominating the market current companies in August 2005 of its office as a chairman of the energy committee of the Federal association of the German industry. In addition Marnette said:

I remain with my criticism. I withdraw, because I do not want to expose the BDI to a burst test.

Since that time it remained a sharpest critic of the current oligopoly and its demand the European Union competition clerk sarins Neelie Kroes spoke.

On Marnette on 28 July 2005 an arson attack was committed, with which its car burned out completely. To the act well-known itself in a letter a group of anti-globalizations. This stands however in doubts, since Marnette does not belong to that country widely well-known Globalisierungspropheten.

It is carrier of the Order of Merit 1.Klasse.
