Dr. med. Werner August Hagedorn (* 2. July 1831 in Bodenrode Westhausen with city; "† 9 June 1894 in Magdeburg) was a German surgeon.
Hagedorn was born as a son of a village school teacher. After Gymnasialbesuch in holy city it studied medicine from 1850 to 1854 in Berlin.
1855 it became Assistenzarzt - at first internal - in the hospital Magdeburg old part of town. Afterwards it changed to its surgical hospital, which it, after it had worked first under Karl Fock, led from 1863-1893. As a contemporary Listers it introduced 1872 into Magdeburg the Antiseptik. After tough negotiations with the Magdeburger municipal authorities were out-arranged accordingly the oldurban operating room as one the first on the continent Listers conceptions. Thus operations became possible, which were in former times hardly possible or even deadly.
Hagedorn acquired special experiences with plastic operations of the lip, Kiefer, palate columns and joint operations. The Hagedorn Nadelhalter and the were designed by it.
A road in the proximity of the Magdeburger of university clinic carries its name (Hagedornstrasse).
