The Wegeriche (Plantago) is a kind from the family of the way Erich plants (Plantaginaceae).

The Wegeriche grows as one year's or krautige plants of several years and is partially in Europe domestic.

The word "way Erich "comes from the old high German. In it are "wega "(=Weg) and "rih "(= king).

Use

Many kinds of way Erich have a bleeding-satisfying effect-clean (!) Sheets, possibly crushed, on a wound put, promote and maximize their healing.

The sheets are edible. They taste easily nussig and must be well chewed, if one verzehrt them individually. During chewing the mouth becomes drying. One uses better the young sheets. The older or more largely the sheet, the harder they are. Well one can put it for occupied bread as salad replacement between them. Broad way Erich can be given also well to the salad.
