The German water tariff is a component of the federal customs administration (border supervision service) and responsibly for the tariff-legal interests on the German sea and water ways. Besides it is member of the coast guard (in the coordination group coast guard) and notices on behalf the water and navigation managements tasks of the navigation police.

Contrary to the land tariff the colors national emblems of the gold and darkblue (land tariff are: Silver federal eagle with writing "tariff" on green background). Due to its dark-blue service clothing the water tariff in the sailor jargon "black course" and/or "Schwatte is called.

Future
