The vultures of works were well-known vehicle and engine works in Lengerich (Westphalia).

The vultures of works were created Ernst Upmeier. This began first as a bicycle dealer around 1910 in Lengerich, where he was active as fitters also. After that 1. World war produced Upmeier then also own Fahrradrahmen.

Center of the 1920er years changed it production over then to bicycle parts. The conversion constantly rose, so that 1933 a new factory were referred. This was the beginning of the vultures of works Lengerich.

1932 it took up the production of motorcycles, for which it referred the 74ccm engine of Sachs. Larger admittingness reached however the motorized tricycles, which were intended for the transportation of human beings both for loads and and were equipped starting from 1935 with a 125ccm Jlo engine. They could carry up to two and a half hundredweight pay load. The black tricycles were delivered with a plank bed or a one closed box. The maximum speed of the vehicles, which became as with the bicycle with a resignation brake abgebrems, amounted to approx. 40 km/h. Starting from 1938 vulture offered then stronger models with DKW engines.

At the same time the vultures of works developed a motorcycle with a modern Rohrrahmen. First equipped with a 100ccm Jlo engine, 125 cm were inserted and to 175 cm later an engine by Jlo. While the German motorcycles were usually painted in dark colors, the showed up in a livelier finish. Thus there was a bright grey-green lacquer finish with Zierlinien.

The 2. World war led to the complete conversion of production, the enterprise manufactured e.g. also hand grenades.

After the war a large part of the factories by crew powers were dismantled, so that production could be taken up only under very difficult conditions again. But 1948 was already built the first 150 with a 98ccm Jlo engine. They corresponded to the last Vorkriegsmodell, but already 1949 gave it against surcharge instead of the feather/spring press fork a rubber telescope fork.

On the first large two-wheeler fair in Frankfurt/Main 1950 the vultures of works showed a new Motorfahrrad. Vultures the Volksmofa the lowest-priced Mofa on the fair at all. For only 535 DM the vehicle with a simple grey lacquer finish gave.

The vultures of works still produced to 1953 own Beside the own vehicles and the Konfektionsmaschinen one produced also two-wheelers for other manufacturers like in the war destroyed Frankfurt torpedoes of works AG. Later one built also the Necko moped available with the Neckermann dispatch, which was sold also under the own name L300 and with an Sachs engine was equipped.

Losses by the fall at the two-wheeler market could be caught by the building of boilers, which the company operated still besides. But in the year increasingly economic difficulties appeared 1967 with vulture, which finally led 1968 to the bankruptcy.

The factory in the context of the town redevelopment were torn off, and so today nothing more reminds of the enterprise, which once over 600 coworkers busy.
