In the 90's 20. Century developed the English geo count Tony everything the idea of the virtual water. The UNESCO announced the following numbers about virtual water:

• The production of 1 kg of eggs needs approx. 4,500 l water
• The production of 1 l milk needs approx. 8 l water
• The production of 1 kg beef needs approx. 22,000 l water
• The production of 1 kg wheat needs approx. 1,100 l water

By these examples the meaning of the virtual water becomes clear. Water arms of countries can preserve their own water resources by the purposeful import of goods, whose production needs much water.
