Vipa is the name of a foam wine variant and/or a weinhaltigen carbonic acid beverage from the GDR. It contains about 20% weisswein, mineral water, as well as sugar, natural Essenzen of eight herbs, as bspw. Violet root, as well as dte excerpt. The alcohol content is with 1,8 per cent with 0,275 litres of bottle size. There was also a red wine variant named "Virola".

Vipa was invented 1959 by a citizen of Berlin pharmacist. Beginning of the 60's was recognized the prescription as patent VEB wine processing. In and the 70's 60's up to 35 million bottles were sold annually. Beginning of the 90's was stopped production.

Since 1995 it gives to buy Vipa again, however less sweetly. 2003 was sold approximately 3.5 million bottles.
