Viktor Uspaskich (in litauischer way of writing also Viktoras Uspaskichas) (* 24. July 1959 in Urdoma, Oblast Archangelsk, Russia) be a litauischer entrepreneur and politician. He is a chairman of the work party created by him (litauisch Darbo partija) and was from autumn 2004 by the June of 2005 ministers of economics Litauens.

Youth and occupation way

Viktor Uspaskich began its way to work in the Soviet Union as a worker with the gas line enterprise north light. It became the specialist for the transfer of gas lines. Since 1985 it was active in this activity in Lithuania. 1990 it created its first company, Efektas in Kedainiai (Zentrallitauen). Starting from 1993 it made Vikonda career as a boss of the enterprise and came to money and influence. Vikonda is a mixing company, to which essentially enterprises from the food production and animal breeding/animal fodder production belong, in addition, services enterprises.

After the end of the Soviet Union it possibly studied (people) economics in Moscow at the department for remote study of the Plechanow academy (1993). 1999 it terminated a structure study in Kaunas. Whether the diploma document made of Moscow is genuine, at present the subject of a legal investigation is in Lithuania. For this reason resignation came as a minister of economics in the summer 2005 Uspaskichs. It at the same time put also its mandate as a delegate of the litauischen parliament down (see standing after).

Political career

Was from 1997 to 2003 Uspaskich of chairmen of the Litaui employers' association. In the autumn 2000 he was selected as non-party on the ticket of the social liberals a party in the parliament (Seimas). There it led the committee for economic questi0ns to 2003. In preparation of its own political ambition he withdrew from this office back, from the parliamentary group of the social liberals and created its own party, ironical way with the title Darbo Partija (a work party). This party was already few months after its establishment in October 2003 because of the point of the public opinion polls. With populist statements and welfare promises it could score particularly with the simple population and reached in October 2004 with the parliamentary elections with 28,4% highest Stimmenzahl.Obwohl first all established parties a co-operation with the work party had excluded, agreed the Social Democrats/social liberals governing so far very fast on a coalition with the work party on the condition that the acting Prime Minister Brazauskas would remain in the office. Uspaskich consented and received thereupon the Ministry of Economic Affairs assigned. After numerous attacks on the part of the media and the opposition, which its obscure business relations covered to Russia, giving preference to of own companies during the dispatching of European Union supports and last possible obtaining by devious means of an academic conclusion, Viktor Uspaskich did not even withdraw after 9 months on 23 June 2005 of the office of the minister of economics. On 16 June the national ethics commission of illegitimen blending of national and private interests in guilty had found it, what by Uspaskich vehement was denied. Further three parliamentary commissions of inquiry run because of the various reproaches against it. In August the litauischen public security authorities determinations introduced 2005 because of falsification of documents.

Short characterisation

Viktor Uspaskich understood it outstanding to represent its own prosperity as document of identification of its abilities (as entrepreneurs like now as politicians) and not be considered as an arrogant millionaire. Averse, he was not a part of the profits to the jet set into preparation of his political career into social projects. That secures in the region Kedainiai, where its enterprise employs 3,000 humans, a strong house power for it and provided for it country-wide a positive image. It succeeded to it to arrange for the citizens the impression in accordance with its model all could bring it to prosperity.

It pleads to arms at the same time for support and for a liberal free-market economy. It developed its political career as non-party carefully and oriented its opinion at the majorities. It could stretch relatively large financial means a far net of it over the parties away by its dependent persons. In time before the elections 2004 it created its own party, which could become from the conditions strongest Kraft in Lithuania.

Apart from its organization strength above all its elegant and eloquentes occurrence stands out. As type of politician it is similar in Vielem to the Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.

Viktor Uspaskich is married in second marriage with Jolanta Bla"žyte and has four children (two from first marriage and two from second marriage). He speaks Litauisch and Russian.
