The Verbatim corporation is an American subsidiary company of the Japanese Mitsubishi Chemical corporation and a manufacturer of computer memory media, leading world-wide. The label name Verbatim is held by several enterprises.

History

The enterprise Verbatim corporation was created 1969 and taken over 1990 by Mitsubishi Chemical.

Products

Verbatim produces disks, magnetic tapes, CD-R (W) s, DVD-R (W) s, dual Layer DVDs, DVD RAM, USB stick, MultiMediaCards, SD MEMORY Cards and CompactFlash memory cards.

However also CD and DVD+R von Taiyo Yuden (Japan) are in addition-bought, to Moser bear India (India), CMC Magnetics (Taiwan) and Prodisc (Taiwan). The products point, if they exhibit the Advanced Azo/super Azo/Metal Azo/SERL label qualitatively the same characteristics up as the "original" of asking in products, which are manufactured in Singapore, and become with the same materials and procedure produces.

Technologies

The once recordable, CD-R, DVD+R and DVD-R data medium manufactured by Verbatim themselves use the patented Advanced Azo Dye Technology (highly developed Azo coloring material technology). The several times recordable data media use the super Eutectic Recording Layer (SERL) technology, which is to regenerate with the deletion (differently than with media of other manufacturers).

Also special audio CD-RW with the so-called TERL (tellurium Alloy Recording Layer) technology are manufactured.
