Vegetable Kohl (Brassica oleracea) is an extremely form-rich plant type of the kind Kohl (Brassica) in the family of the cross bloom plants (Brassicaceae).
Particularly used in the South German linguistic area for some sorts almost excluding the designation herb for Kohl, e.g. instead of "white Kohl ""white herb ".
One assumes from the game form Brassica oleracea var. silvestris the different today cultivated kinds of Kohl were bred, which are then called also (Brassica oleracera var.).
