Profile

The VDMA represents 3,000 with priority medium-size member enterprises of the industry producing capital goods and is thereby member-strongest and most important trade associations in Europe.

The machine and equipment construction is a key technology and the engine for economiceconomics a conversion of approximately 151 the billion euro and approximately 864,000 persons employed belongs the machine and equipment construction employers most important to the largest industries and in Germany.

The products and services of the machine and equipment construction enjoy world-wide high reputation. Approximately two thirds of German production go into the export. In 21 of 31 partial industries of mechanical engineering Germany is world market leader.

The VDMA informs since end of the 90's regularly with the well-known Think Ing. - Meetings over the career opportunities for engineers. Together with other federations meetings aimed take place to the engineering profession e.g. at universities and on fairs. Enterprises present the tasks of engineers on the basis products, personnel managers report in talc rounds over requirements and career possibilities, young engineers report in talc rounds from vocational practice, the plenum can intermediate questions at any time place.
