The term value driver (or also value generators, English VALUE more driver) originates from the discussion of the Shareholder of VALUE concept and first of all generally designates all factors and characteristics, whose increase increase the Shareholder VALUE, thus the enterprise value for the shareholder.

The exact definition, which a value driver is and which, is not in the literature, in the enterprises and with consultation just as disputed, as the Shareholder VALUE concept altogether.

As a indisputable "hard" value driver the cash flow of an enterprise can be regarded. In addition, beside such "hard" value drivers such as cash flow, capital costs, sales development and tax rate, are discussed the so-called "soft factors" like the coworkers as "actual value drivers".
