Utilization the use (frequent the sales) of a thing, a patent or a mark is called, in order to obtain from it financial proceeds. The term Patentverwertung or patent marketing covers thereby also the utilization of utility model, design patent and further patent rights.

• Wastes can be converted both materially by physical treatment directly into final products or be prepared by means of chemical action to the recuperation from raw materials
• The energetic utilization by means of recuperation of energy by force heat coupling
• The auction of a real estate or a domain in the way of an insolvency procedure
• The sales of license rights at a procedure for a technical production
• The hiring of copyrights at a work (e.g. a film script) to the use by a publishing house
• The hiring of the rights of exploitation at own music against a remuneration (see GEMA)
