Uralwagonsawod (Russian: ) is a Russian mechanical engineering company in the city Nischni Tagil. The company was developed in the period of the 1931 to 1936 and produced first heavy goods railroad cars for the Soviet railway - first were delivered on 11 October 1936. During the Second World War by Uralvagonzavod the largest Russian factory was operated for production by battle tanks; she delivered over 35.000 T-34-Panzer.

After the Second World War the company concentrated the production of railway trucks, widened however its product range. Thus further military goods were produced, in addition, orders within the space travel range, machines for the agriculture, construction machines and other one.

Today the company is world-wide admits for production of Russian battle tanks like the T-72 and at present current model T-90; newest development projects like the T-95 and new vehicle concepts stand in competition to western military production. Uralvagonzavod plays thereby also in the export of Russia an important role.

Uralwagonsawod is to be denationalized gradually starting from 2006. To the enterprise then also the enterprises Uraltransmasch (among other things building of self-propelled gun carriages and mine putting tanks) belong, to Sawod number 9 (among other things building of artillery cannon) and TschTS Uraltrak.
