The US-American enterprise upper home, was one of the most well-known manufacturers of Synthesizern in the 70's.

Upper home (upper home Electronics) was created 1970 by Tom upper home. Originally it manufactured electronic effect devices and was briefly a representative of ARP of instrument. Upper home belonged to pioneers with the development of the Synthesizers into the early 1970er years. Thus upper home with the DS-2 and with the Synthesizer expansion of modules (SEM) produced the first digital sequencer first polyp-hone Synthesizer.

1980 were available the SEM module in two, four six and achtstimmigen variants and became the starting point of a whole row more spectacularly simply serving Synthesizer, which flowed then in the versions OB-X and Whether-Xa, OB-6 and 1981 into the OB-8.

1984 appeared the matrix series begun with the rack module Matrix-1000 and the high-quality, extremely expensive models matrix 6 and matrix 12 as Synthesizer.

All Oberheim Synthesizer was based on the similar subtraktiven synthesis. The upper home sound was well-known to be particularly strong in addition, warmly and soft.
