The UNSPSC (United nation standard Products and services code) is an internationally used classification system of the goods economy.
The UNSPSC system is used in the E-Procurement, in particular in the American area, for the enterprise-spreading classification by goods and services of all kinds.
The UNSPSC system resulted 1998 from a co-operation of the United nation to development of programs (UNDP) and the Dun & Bradstreet corporation (D&B).
The UNDP appointed GS1 US, in former times the uniform code Council (UCC), as a code manager in May 2003. The code manager is responsible for guaranteeing observance of the basic rules of the UNSPSC as well as the completeness of the code pattern. GS1 US is responsible for supervising the change of code of requests, the industrial new edition projects and publishes regularly temporally planned updates to the code, communications with members, as well as special projects and initiatives, as both by the UNDP and Mitgliedrequests.The code set is determined in the following languages present: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Dutch, Chinese, Portuguese and Danish one.
