The typesetter awl is a tool in the lead composition. With their the typesetter has with closely set putting writing boxes (see also: Setting box) individual type characters from the box elevated or in the printing form corrections implemented. Also with the Ausbinden - thus the transport and storable making of a lead composition - the typesetter awl is used. It gives both remarks with points for changing and to firmly used points.
