The TUI AG (tourism union international) is a German tourism enterprise. Head office of the TUI is Hanover. The TUI AG belongs to the DAX.
Ursprunglich was the company an industrial enterprise with emphasis heavy industry, which Preussag called itself. Center of the 90's on the search for new business fields, changed itself the Preussag from a mixing company to a modern service enterprise of the leisure industry.
Nowadays the TUI is the largest tourism enterprise of the world and is represented in completely Europe. The company busily over 62.000 coworkers unites Europe under approximately 200 different tourism marks and societies out completely. The TUI possesses travel agencies, Incoming agencies, hotels, airlines, cruise ships and tour operators. - 1968 establishment by route Grandpa, Scharnow journeys, Hummel journey and Dr. Tigges Travel
- 1970 air route internationally and TransEuropa become part of the TUI; Establishment of Robinson (together with Steigenberger)

- starting from 1978 employment of the special train TUI FerienExpress
- 1990 standardization of the organizer names to "TUI beautiful holidays"
- 1995 establishment of the TUI Nederland and TUI Austria
- 1996 establishment of the TUI Suisse
- 1998 assumption by the Preussag AG/Hapag Lloyd and Eingliederung into the Hapag tourism union (HTU)
- 2000 HTU in TUI Group one renames
- 2001 TUI Group into the Preussag AG 100%ige daughter of these changes and becomes
- 2002 renaming the Preussag AG in TUI AG
- starting from 2002 restructuring away from a mixing company to a pure tourism and logistics company
