The Tucher was an influential buyer and Patrizierfamilie of the free realm city Nuremberg, even if they are not ranked generally among the oldest families of the city. Although they created relatively late own commercial establishments compared with other Patrizierfamilien only, they became nevertheless by their business connections in completely Europe in the outgoing Middle Ages and the early modern times one of the richest buyer families of the city. After their in the year acquired head office in Simmelsdorf they called themselves 1598 with complete name Tucher of Simmelsdorf. The name additive was recognized 1697 of the emperor also as title of nobility and 1815 was taken up the Tucher also to the baron class of the Bavarian aristocracy.
