The trunk (lat. Truncus, literally is called "trunk") is anatomically the central section of the body without head, neck, member masses and tail.

The trunk is arranged into four different sections:

• Thorax (thorax) or also chest (Pectus)
• Belly (abdomen)
• Back (Dorsum)
• Basin (Pelvis)

These individual sections are continued to divide into regions (Regiones pectoris, Regiones abdominis, Regiones dorsi and Regiones pelvis).
