The trembling forest is an Eifel landscape in the GermanBelgian border area between Hellenthal and crown castle. In the thinly settled and predominantly wooded high surface between 500 and scarcely 700 m in the north Eifel the source areas of Olef, Urft and Kyll lie. Highest collection at the white stone (689 m) with Udenbreth with skiing area. The settlements in the northern trembling forest belong to the highest church villages in the Rhine country.

The trembling forest is considered as one of the last circulation areas of the European game cat in Germany. It is a component of the nature park the north Eifel. In the north the national park the Eifel borders on the trembling forest. South the Kyll forms the border to the snow Eifel.
