The traffic service (also traffic service, mobility service) is a field of application of the transport enterprises as well as of them by means of transport produced and at the traffic market acted property. It covers the safe, economic, efficient and lasting contribution of a traffic process - with the goal of the change of the spatial existence of persons, goods or messages. The traffic service exhibits some characteristics typical for services, which coin/shape the traffic considerably, so e.g. the non--shelf-life, consumption during the production, the participation of the traffic customer, the temporary conveyance of the traffic object into the Obhut of the transport enterprise among other things

Pay attention that with traffic service the traffic capacity is not meant, this describes rather the quantitative achievement of the different thus bspw. the altogether put back distances or the carried persons.

Kinds of traffic services

The different traffic services form individual industries at the traffic market (serve-oriented branches of traffic):

• Passenger traffic
  • Long-distance passenger traffic: Tourism tourism,
  • Local passenger traffic: Public local passenger traffic taxi and rented car traffic
• Goods transport services; Goods traffic in local, regional and international relations,
  • Logistics, forwarding business, Befrachtung, transport,
  • Supplying services with water waste water, energy, warmth (line and/or Rohrleitungstransport),
  • Postal service courier, express and parcel services (KEP),
• Intelligence: Telecommunication system telecommunications (transmission of not material messages), e.g. Data carrier services, Providerdienste - designates often also as virtual mobility services compared with the physical mobility services.
