Under the registered trade mark TOM Productions published the German A. Tofahrn, Ch. Males software development and consultation GbR from 1991 to 2001 most different software, including computer games. In a firm constellation with seat in Karben TOM Productions existed until 1994. In the year 1996 TOM Productions was dissolved, the name was however maintained. Thus mainly the computer games are also today still sold and to appear further in the name of TOM Productions. In this category the most well-known development is the Game OF ROBOT Reihe.In Germany ranks TOM Productions among the pioneers of the Shareware and Freeware market.

History

While their school time in the upper stage males and Andreas Tofahrn became acquainted with themselves Christian's. Both had already EDP experiences handing far. 1983 gave Christian male Andreas Tofahrn for its self-'s building 6502-Rechner the first version of Game OF ROBOT with ASCII diagram. The latter made itself to portieren the play on further systems. Since the ASCII diagram was expenditure-provoked however soon, Andreas Tofahrn sketched for the first time a version with independent diagram. Christian's made itself males for full enthusiasm for the result for sketching first diagrams for the play. Andreas Tofahrn worried particularly about programming. Some time after the publication of the first play The Game OF ROBOT - the Schulzasar developed also the name TOM Productions would leave, the official entry as registered trade mark took place however only 1991.

At first Game OF ROBOT was rather a hobby project, into which the authors trained and pointed all possible ideas out, what at the time at that time was possible. The play had already briefly found a spreading amazing for the authors after its appearance. That was apart from the innovation of the play also because of the fact that there were hardly Action Adventure plays with German language at that time. Thus 1990 a successor were published. A further honour became TOM Productions on the CeBIT 1990 assigns, on which they presented the section of the Shareware and Freeware of the public. For the play Game OF ROBOT II received the two authors from the gust that to AG the honor Public Domain author of the yearly 1990.

Since the authors had already attained a high Bekanntheitsgrad, they created a GbR. Also TOM Productions than registered trade marks was registered a little later, whereby the name applied now officially. Early TOM Productions was not only limited to the play sector. Already before the establishment of the GbR and the first Game OF ROBOT publication the work on the programs train CAD and raster CAD for providing technical designs and different models already began. Some programs were developed also particularly on behalf different customers and companies. For the administration of the own customer data TOM Productions produced the program RDB.

The authors received a further honor 1991 for CreDe, the first price with a competition of the DOS international for conceptions regarding a modern user surface. At a time, in which evenly such surfaces could not become generally accepted such as Windows yet as standard and still in the development were.

It became soon necessary for Andreas Tofahrn and Christian male to co-operate due to many the clerical work, still more closely and to refer an appropriate office. This happened in April 1991 in Karben. The work could be more easily mastered by several employees. To this also Arne shepherd belonged, who could at that time find an appropriate work as a doctor of chemistry hardly. The two last episodes of Game OF ROBOT are considerably coined/shaped of Arne shepherd. Also to the new editions of the three first published episodes it contributed a part in the form of music.
