Toblerone is a formerly Swiss chocolate mark, those in Berne of the former company Tobler & Cie. (today Kraft Foods, which again the Altria Group belongs) one produces. The Toblerone as world brand is sold in 122 countries in the world and still produced also today the entire quantity of traditional Swiss chocolate in Berne.

The Toblerone usually is in an unmistakable, gold-yellow, to find triangular packing and in different sizes available. Alternatively as full milk, tender bitter or as white chocolate. The chocolate is enriched with Nougat.

Because of the typical form in Switzerland triangular, oblong articles are often called "Toblerone". Also the antitank barriers built during the Second World War in Switzerland are called "Toblerone".

History

The Toblerone was invented in the year 1908 by the Chocolatiers Theodor Tobler and Emil Baumann. The name is a composition from "Tobler" and "Torrone", the Italian name for honey almond Nougat. The Toblerone came already in the typically prismischen form on the market. Also the Logo originates from the first minute of the emergence and shows the matte horn.

1969 were introduced for the first time beside the "classical" Toblerone a Toblerone product further in different sizes: the black Toblerone. 1973 followed the white one and in the 90's the blue Toblerone.
