Since 1965 honour German Krawatteninstitut with seat in Krefeld, together with German Institut for Herrenmode and the Cologne fair, each year a personality of the public life, that sets the tie by its appearance styleful in scene, with the title tie man of the yearly. Aligned for some years this honour again in the solemn context of the largest road-fashion-look the world of the city Krefeld.

"Tie crew"

In the year 2003 the jury for the first time lent several persons, i.e. the title tie man of the yearly to the team of Borussia Moenchengladbach, since it is to have always shown itself in the public with tie.

Unofficial tie man

Otto Schily was by the Greens to the tie man of the yearly 1984. German Krawatteninstitut had to do thereby however nothing.
