Professor Dr. Thomas Straubhaar (* 2 August 1957 in Unterseen, Switzerland) is an economist and president Hamburg institutes for world economy. The German wave calls it one of the most well-known economists in Germany.

As a proponent of the unconditional basic income it demands the abolishment of the social systems in the momentary form. For the job market it demands a "radical deprivation of power" of the trade unions.

Straubhaar is an Ambassador of the initiative new one social free-market economy financed by the employers' association total metal and is considered to critics as neoliberal.
