History

1921 created Richard they by a foundry enterprise in load-separate, it became basis of the today's they by works. Before that 2. World war mainly consumer goods articles and ouple locks were manufactured. After development of thermoplastic plastics from it consumer goods were produced such as bathroom mirror cabinets and small furniture.

The ascent as toy manufacturers began 1950. SIKU was registered as mark and belonged to the exhibitors of the 1. play goods fair. For the first time play goods made of plastic were shown, among other things a farm with animals. Starting from 1954 toy models, first exclusive made of plastic, are manufactured. The production of toy models made of metal begins 1963. They are manufactured in the die-cast zinc procedure.

• 50's

First plastic play goods are manufactured (farm, animals). The first Siku Modellautos of the plastics V series on a scale 1:60 was produced in the year 1954. For the different kinds of motor vehicles such as LKWs, cranes, also an extremely extensive accessories program was offered to military vehicles such as road signs, figures, buildings and road plans.

• 60's

1963 manufacture Siku the first models from die-cast zinc, the so-called metal V series, likewise on a scale 1:60. The models of the plastic series were produced further, fell however gradually from the program, until 1969 the plastic series was stopped completely. Also in the metal series there were Exoten beside the then current vehicle models again like American road cruisers or racing cars. In addition, Siku in the offer had detachable buildings like a garage or a gas station, which became to ship on a low loader.

• 70's

1975 gave it then the next conversions, among other things the yardstick of the new models on 1:55 was changed. Model numbers became in four digits, the so-called 1000er-Serie or also superseries (V-models had a three-figure model number). Still some models of the V-series also to the 1000er series transferred, so that at the beginning of quasi two different yardsticks in the program were, these fell however to center of the 80's gradually raus. The yardstick 1:55 still exists until today.

• 80's

Apart from the superseries Siku has a farm he series in the program also since 1983 (before it it gave in Germany only farm models of "Britains Ltd. ", which since 1948 manufacture tractor models & accessories on a scale 1:32, isolates also from "Ertl"). This is laid out on a scale 1:32 and offers a comprehensive program at current vehicles from the agriculture. 1984 are taken over steeped in tradition citizens of Berlin the enterprise Wiking model construction. The Siku models are now printed on, more easily and less sharp edged. 1995 a logistics center with fully automatic automatic warehouse built in load-separate. 1998 are start of the series of SIKU junior, it are toy models from plastic in large yardstick.

• A new Millennium

In the year 2001 for the first time 2 classical tractor models and a trailer appeared in the Farmer series. The farm he and Classic series until today one continues to develop. Meanwhile the farm he and Classic series might constitute the main conversion of the toy program of Siku.

Under the mark Siku are manufactured starting from 2003 models on a scale 1:87.

For some years above all building vehicles and small cars on a scale 1:50 are manufactured. Collecting tank pleases the however not straight, if the novelties all emerge in different yardsticks and no more uniform yardstick system gives it.

In the meantime the novelties reach already approximately the quality and the Detailrechtum of models in the collecting tank yardstick 1:87.

The cars, which represented in former times the actual main area of the Siku program, become now increasingly less, and must among other things the new series, as well as the building vehicles yield.

Sikuautos as collecting object

Generally Siku models are herangerieft to an assembly area very much liked. It looks similar with with the reproductions of the Hungarian company Metchy, who likewise manufactured into the 80ern Sikus in new colors and "larva in Hungary".

In the production number clearly smaller like series or foreign models, but in the favour of the collecting tanks partly clearly more highly, are the so-called advertising models, which give companies with Siku in order. These models can be normal standard models, which one imprinted simply the company name somewhere or to be able and in special colors painted models printed it on to be, which can be packed even in special cardboard. There were these industrial orders already from the outset with Siku, then the development of the first 32 Sikumodelle with proceeds from production was carried out by so-called margarine Werbefiguren. There were advertising models in all series, but the correct break-through of the Sikuautos as advertising media came only in the 80's, where from the passenger car to the large combine the most diverse models were manufactured to firm anniversaries or fairs. Before it there were only quite few, for it the more beautiful advertising models, which can be worth today pretty often several hundred euro.

There are also here rare pieces, which one knows only from the collecting tank catalog or from the Internet. It is nearly impossible partly to get certain advertising models since they are assigned only to particularly good customers and/or the edition are only very small. On the other side gives it in addition, models, whose edition is with 10.000 and more and the far under price of the standard model to be had is.
