Theodor Paul Albrecht, called Theo Albrecht, (* 28. March 1922 in meals) is supposed together with its older brother Karl Albrecht owner of the Aldi group. Theo Albrecht belongs to Aldi north with head office in meals.

Life

Karl and Theo Albrecht grew up in modest conditions. The father was busy as a miner and later than helping out bakers; the nut/mother had a small food shop in the Essener worker quarter of Schonnebeck. Theo completed a theory in the shop of its nut/mother. After the end of the Second World War took over the two brothers 1946 the parental grocer's shop. 1961 open the first Aldi (Albrecht Discount).

On 29 November 1971 Theo Albrecht was kidnapped. The kidnapping took 17 days and found only with the payment of seven million Marks ransom by bishop Franz Hengsbach their end. The authors were soon seized and condemned 1973 by the regional court meal to an imprisonment of in each case eight one half years. Allegedly the kidnappers Theo Albrechts of its simple suit were in such a way surprised that they could be shown only its identity card, before they kidnapped it. Theo Albrecht tried later before court to implement the fiscal removability of the ransom sum than extra charge.

Since the brothers Albrecht live very withdrawn, is a little well-known over Theo Albrecht, both brothers are considered as very economical. Theo plays gladly gulf and collects typewriters. It lives a square kilometer on the island on a large property and with own golf course. The last published photo of Theo Albrecht dates from the year 1971. Like its brother Karl belongs to Theo after Forbes with an estimated fortune of approximately 15.1 billion USD (2006) to the richest men of the world and is on place 22 of the Forbes Ranking. In the meantime the Albrecht brothers from the active business life withdrew themselves. The two brothers brought their fortunes into the Mark US donation and the Siepmann donation.
