The stars - magazine for all areas of the astronomy - 1921 were created by Robert Henseling (1883-1964) and appeared as scientific magazine monthly until 1996 in the J.A. Barth publishing house, Leipzig - Heidelberg - Berlin. To 1 January 1997 "the stars" after 75 classes with likewise monthly the magazine of "stars and space" appearing in Heidelberg was combined by the "institute for Max-Planck for astronomy" and lost thereby its name.

An article over the history of the steeped in tradition magazine "the stars" - from the establishment to the combination with "stars and space" - is in the expenditure for January of the "stars and space" from 1997.
