The Gillette company is a transnational enterprise with seat in Boston.

The corporation acted at the New Yorker stock exchange produces razors (label name: Gillette), electrical devices (label name brown, see GmbH brown), dental care products (oral b) and batteries (Duracell).

Within the range of shaving accessories the enterprise is world market leader. The largest competitor is Wilkinson Sword. Gillette, which gained 2004 according to estimations a conversion of 10.3 billion US Dollar and a profit of 2.3 billion US Dollar, employed world-wide about 29,000 coworkers in the same period.

On 28 January 2005 the consumer goods producer announced Procter & Gamble to want to buy the enterprise. The enterprise became thereby after the food company a second largest producer of consumer goods world-wide.

On 30 September 2005 the American competition authority FTC of the assumption of Gillette agreed by Procter & Gamble.
