Tesco is a British, world-wide represented supermarket chain. Tesco is the largest chain in Great Britain.

The founder Jack Cohen designated the company after his Mrs. Tessa Cohen (width unit CO).

A further variant of the naming is in the English Wikipedia according to which Jack Cohen 1924 a large quantity of dte of T.E. Stick-wave bought. It sketched new labels for the dte, whereby the name for it consisted of the first three letters of the name of the supplier with the first two letters of its own surname.

In some countries, e.g. in Thailand, the business Tesco Lotus is called.
