With the "regulation (EEC) No. 2658/87 of the advice from 23 July 1987 over the tariff-as fixed in the tariff and statistic nomenclature as well as over the common customs tariff" was introduced a EEC-uniform customs tariff, the TARIC.
It stands shortened for "tariff the of (integrated customs tariff of the European communities).
The first eight places of the customs tariff numbers correspond to those the combined nomenclature of the EEC, and/or in the Federal Republic of Germany also those of the statistic goods numbers.
With the ninth and tenth place (TARIC Unterposition) and further auxiliary code the EEC-uniform rate of duty is specified for a certain commodity - in dependence of the Warenursprungs - with the import into the EEC states.
Thus the TARIC can be used also for commercialpolitical measures for certain goods from certain states.
