Tadeusz Rydzyk (* 3. May 1945 in Olkusz) is a Polish Redemptoristen Pater and media entrepreneur. It created and leads the nationalcatholic broadcasting station radio Maryja.

Pater Rydzyk studied it at the higher seminar for priests of the Redemptoristen in with followed a structure study of Biblical theology to the Akademia Teologii Katolickiej in Warsaw. he put 1971 down both its and the Priesterweihe. Subsequently, he worked as Katechet in Thorn, Szczecinek and Krakau. In Krakau it was active also as Hochschulseelsorger. From 1986 to 1991 it lived in different monasteries in Germany. After its return to Poland it created 1991 the broadcasting station "radio Maryja". Large success tempts it in the following years to the establishment of further enterprises, among other things the "university for social and medium culture" (Wyzsza Szkola Kultury Spolecznej i Medialnej) in Thorn, whose rector is he, the catholic television station "TV TRWAM" and the daily paper "Nasz Dziennik".

The enterprises created by Pater Rydzyk are concerned contentwise primarily with the theory of the catholic church as well as socio-political topics. An official goal is thereby the Evangelisierung. Critics accuse to him, he publicise nationalism as well as "traditional" catholicism and represent the theory of the catholic church distorted. Also due to anti-Semitic statements and opinion-make more political stand it in the criticism. Proponents and friends of radio Maryja and TV TRWAM estimate against it Pater Rydzyk as a charismatische personality, who the monotonousness of the media breaks open and fights against the moral purge as well as for catholic values.
