The soap tree plants (Sapindaceae) educate a plant family, which belongs within the Bedecktsamer (Magnoliophyta) to the rose something similar (Rosidae). Molecular-biological realizations resulted in that also the past maple plants (Aceraceae) and the (Hippocastanaceae), arranged in the Unterfamilie of the (Hippocastanoideae), into the family of the soap tree plants to be in-grouped to have. Is common all Sapindaceae the training Diskus at the reason of the bloom.

The family is arranged into 3 Unterfamilien (and a eingeordntete kind), and covered about 135 kinds with nearly 1600 kinds.

Spreading

The soap tree plants are particularly in the Tropics very richly developed. They settle the entire tropical South America, Africa and Asia, in addition also still Australia, New Zealand and Ozeanien. In the moderate zones of the Northern Hemisphere, into North America, Europe and Eastern Asia, only few kinds come before as for example the maples (Acer).
