The Swiss astronomical society (SAY) is the roof federation of the regional astroassociations in Switzerland.
Those SAY to 1938 one based and has after its self description the goal of creating "friendly and scientific relations among the amateur astronomers of all occupation and age groups." In addition information exchange with colleagues and the interested public belongs. Therefore SAYS "to the spreading of knowledge of astronomy and related fields of knowledge and promotes the observation activity of their members" dedicates itself.

Several times in the year "telescope meetings" take place for amateurs and companies, e.g. 2005/06 in October, February, May and August. Since 1989 give it to each September the loose, informal "Swiss star party".
Those SAY publishes the magazine ORION, which appears every 2 months and contributions from all areas of the astronomy contains, among other things
The additional ORION circular letter appears depending upon need and informs those at present 150 subscribers about unforeseeable phenomena such as comet, Novae etc.

The information system astro! nfo is resident on an own server. It is maintained by a team of amateur astronomers and constantly extended. Over Internet spontaneous ideas can be carried out and new astronomical contents be published. Furthermore it gives a technical and a panel, the possibility of private classified advertisements, an overview of the telescope market and a E-Mail listing of all Swiss to amateur astronomers.
