Sven Gustaf Wingqvist (* 10 December 1876 in resounding mountain; "† 17 April 1953) was a Swedish inventor in the age of the Industriealisierung. It created the company SKF - the today's world market leader for antifriction bearings and invented around the year 1907 the swivel-joint roller bearing.

Life

1894 it terminated the school in and was following on John Lennings Web school in until 1895. Afterwards it spent a half year in the United States and became 1899 engineer in At this time its Intresse at textile machines and their ball bearings began to grow. Its work led it there to the invention of the S.K.F. - Camps, whereupon it created the 1907 SKF. 1919 gave up to Wingqvist the presidency in the SKF, remained to the enterprise however in the line, and turned to other fields of application.
