The term supply procurement designates a procurement concept within procurement logistics, at which an explicit inventory formation takes place, in order to obtain an uncoupling from procurement market and production to. The supply procurement faces the individual case procurement and production-synchronous procurement.

The material buffer camp resulting from the supply procurement makes a decoupling for the manufacturing possible of the procurement market and guarantees to the enterprise at the same time a certain independence opposite the supplier and the market happening. This can particularly be of advantage at limited goods. Besides so-called balance Spekulations-und safety stock amounts can be held by this kind of procurement.

Application conditions
