Supplier Relationship management (SRM) covers the strategic planning and central control of relations of an enterprise with its suppliers. A goal of the employment of a SRM of system is the close binding of all suppliers to the enterprise as well as the support of the purchase during the entire execution of the procurement processes.

In a SRM system e.g. takes place a central administration of all sources of supply and all purchasing data, like data concerning available products, possible risks, conditions or quality. An increase in value results from bundling of the entire knowledge over purchasing data and sources of supply, which are put to all applications of a system landscape at the disposal.
