The summit of the peoples (splinter Cumbre de loosely Pueblos) understands itself as Gegenveranstaltung to the America summit and is directed against the policy of the totalAmerican foreign trade zone (FTAA). The third congress of this kind took place from the 1. by 5 November 2005 in Mar del Plata, Argentina. Met there above all politically engaged humans from north, central and South America, which use themselves for a social and against a neoliberale policy on the American continent. Contrary to the America summit, which likewise took place of 4. by 5 November 2005 in Mar del Plata, Cuba on the summit of the peoples was represented.
